High-performance wall-mount DSL filters for phones or telephone equipment sharing a single phone jack. Ideal for blocking radio frequency (RF) interference from cordless phones and other sources for uninterrupted video/audio streaming and games. Effectively filters one or more phone devices (standard or cordless phone, answering machine, dial-up modem, fax machine, etc.). Use one DSL filter at each phone jack in use in the home or office. Easy to install—just snap the filter over the existing wall outlet and mount the wall phone on the filter. Also provides one unfiltered jack for DSL/HPN plus one additional filtered jack for a second single-line phone or fax machine.

DSL filters - What are they ? Why you may need one (or more) ?

  DSL filters, also known as a micro-filters, is a small in-line device sometimes required in DSL installations. It filters line interference to standard telephone phone equipment when the equipment lines share the same line as the DSL service. DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line, an always-on Internet service provided through in-place telephone lines. The ISP providing DSL service uses these standard telephone lines to provide a high-bandwidth channel that can deliver downstream speeds up to 3mbps. A special DSL modem is required and DSL filters may also be required, depending on the installation method

   Without DSL filters, signals or echoes from analog/telephone devices at the top of their frequency range can result in reduced performance and connection problems with DSL service. While those from the DSL service at the bottom of its range can result in line noise (poor voice quality, actual audio noise, and functional problems) for analog/telephone devices.

NOTE:
  If DSL filters are used instead of a splitter, a maximum of five phone devices with filters can be used before they begin to excessively degrade the DSL signal.
